EMF is just six weeks away - In this email we’ll be talking about the ticket resale, how to submit talks and workshops, and urgently asking for help finding more sponsors. All these things get you tickets to the festival!
The EMF Call for Participation (CfP) is open until April 25th for talks, workshops, performances and installations. Accepted proposals are guaranteed tickets to the festival.
If you’d like some inspiration, this year we’ve chosen a solarpunk theme. Currently we’re particularly looking for talks & workshops on crafts, security, open source, and live musical performances, but everything is welcome.
There will be a small number of returned tickets going on sale before the event. To prevent a stampede, we will be releasing small blocks of tickets throughout the day on Sunday May 5th rather than at a fixed time. Good luck!
We are finding it extremely hard to find sponsors for EMF this year, and if we do not secure more sponsors we will have to make some tough decisions.
While the ticket price covers all our base costs, sponsors pay for many of the lovely things that make EMF truly special, such as our free childcare and live talk transcription.
If you, your organisation, or an organisation you know of would be interested in sponsoring EMF 2024 please get in touch - we’d love to talk to you!

We’re also looking for people to help out with organising the festival. If you’d like to help out take a look at the volunteer roles we’re looking to fill - we’re particularly looking for people to help organise our music programme, and help with communications like this!
